No news is good news according to the proverb but on April, 18 1930 no news was no news. The BBC announced at their regular news broadcast time that nothing had happened that was newsworthy and went on to play 15 minutes of piano music. At that time the BBC was the only station operating so it wasn't like the listeners could switch channels to fact check. As it turned out there was news, fairly big news actually, nationalist rebels had raided the British forces in India which was part of the British Empire at that time, but communication lines were cut during the attack leaving no way to receive "the news". Ah, but a girl can dream!
