As part of a two week trial Singapore has deployed remote control robodogs to warn people in parks and public areas to stay at least a meter apart. Oddly the devices were made by Boston Dynamics and instead of barking in a commanding local dialect the machine softly speaks English in a female voice reminding people to " Keep Singapore healthy." "For your own safety and those around you,please stand at least one meter apart. Thank you." The yellow and black robodog is called Spot,Spot has a counter part who looks like a small car who patrols a reservoir and reminds people not to loiter and that gatherings are not allowed. They are also fitted with cameras to estimate the number of people visiting their areas,though the cameras are not designed to track individuals and do not record personal data.
