Some Good

There's no denying that the deaths this pandemic has caused are horrendous and it is nearly beyond belief that something like this could happen in this day and age. The good news is that this virus has made a few good things happen as well, environmentally in just the short time it has been ravaging human lives the lack of "regular" human activities has seen pollution dropping and today in the local paper there was a promising story about the local orca population. The whales seem to be bouncing back without all the pleasure boats, whale watching excursions and cruise ships that cause interruptions in their ability to communicate among themselves. The researchers are collecting sample of whale poop with the help of a dog named Eba who is trained to sniff out the scat so it can be collected and studied. Now if officials would shut down salmon fishing, except for tribal purposes, for a year so the whale's food supply could replenish they might be able to rebuild their population, they are down to 73. Maybe nature is doing a reset since humans seem unable to do that  on their own.
