Have a Cold One?

With the UK and other countries in Europe experiencing extreme heat and experts saying last summer will be our last cool summer it seems like a good time to get serious about things to do or not to do in the heat. As far as having a cold one, that is not something to do even though it may sound divine. Dentists warn that the enamel on your teeth contracts and expands with the temperature and drinking an ice cold drink may cause the enamel to crack or chip and can also make your teeth sensitive. The answer is to stick to room temperature drinks to avoid dental problems. It is also important to stay hydrated to prevent tooth decay as when the saliva isn't present bacteria and food particles stick to the teeth. Great, you say, something else to worry about with the heat...your welcome!
