Spots and Stripes

The animal kingdom is amazing,in the past I did a post on how giraffes coats were all a unique pattern much like human fingerprints but they aren't the only animals with unique coats. Both tigers and leopards have coats that compare to fingerprints and the tiger's patterns don't stop at the hair but are also on their skin. With that information in mind I wondered about domestic cats and if their coats especially tabbies were all unique since that pattern originally came from non domestic cats, but no, domestic cats do not have unique patterns, they do however have fingerprint like noses with no two alike which is also true of dogs. The genius is in the simplicity.
