Van Gogh, a 7 year old pit bull got his name from losing an ear after being used as a bait dog for a dog fighting ring. When they were done using him they let him loose in the streets not caring what happened to the poor guy. Fortunately the founder of a nonprofit,Happily Furever After Rescue saw his picture and wanted to include him in her efforts to place overlooked breeds like pit bulls in forever homes. After bringing him into her home and nursing him back to health she decided to use a creative approach to bring attention to Van Gogh so she started him painting by sealing paints and a small canvas inside a plastic bag then smearing the bag with peanut butter. Just like that Van Gogh was painting much like Vincent before him. Since that time not only has he found a forever home he has also raised over $3,000 for the foundation by selling 60 of his original paintings.
