You're probably wondering what a sploot is and where to sign up to give/get a sploot. Splooting is what animals do to cool off when they get overheated, you've no doubt seen them flattening their bodies against something cool like concrete in the shade or tile floors if the animal in question is a pet. The bad news is with global warming eventually just splooting won't be enough to get the wild critters cool. What you can do if you notice an animal distressed from the heat is leave water where they can get to it and create a shaded area for them if you can do so without disturbing them too much.
