If you consider yourself to be a law abiding citizen maybe it's because you don't know some of the bizarre laws that remain on the books in most of the 50 states. In Massachusetts it's illegal to scare a pigeon with offenders facing a month in prison and or a $20 fine...of course this wasn't to protect the pigeons but to protect the hunters that used to gather them in nets for either food or target practice. Eavesdropping is illegal in Oklahoma. In Alabama a person can face up to a year in jail, a $500 fine or both for pretending to be a minister of any faith, including nuns and yes that also applies to Halloween costumes.
