They're People Too (Kind of)

Yesterday's list of presidential peculiarities continues today with: Zachary Taylor didn't smoke or drink though he chewed copious amounts of tobacco and was know for his marksmanship at hitting the sand filled box that served as a spittoon in his office. Grover Cleveland worked as an executioner briefly before he became president, he was sheriff of Erie County and part of his duties was putting heads in nooses. Teddy Roosevelt was a known nature lover and refused to have a Christmas tree in the White House so his kids cut their own and hid it in a closet. Teddy was also known for popularizing the Teddy bear which Taft thought he could top with making stuffed opossums the rage but it turned out kids didn't find Billy Possum cute or cuddly.
