Amazon is planning to quit using boxes for most of their shipments instead using the packaging that items come from the manufacturer in. At first glance this seems like an incredibly bad idea but they've actually done their homework and are trying to save a few trees with things that don't need to be packed to death, so less stuff used all around, then what about porch pirates? Won't this make it even easier for them to spot the good stuff? Actually they expect it to lessen theft as not knowing what they're stealing is what triggers the dopamine in their brains not the actual reward of a specific item. Items that are fragile or otherwise require additional packing will still be packed and customers will be able to request a box on any shipment at no extra charge.
