Double or Nothing

Today's blog will not be news to U.K. readers, but I had never heard about the British Royalty that aren't born in the summer months celebrating their birthdays twice. Queen Elizabeth celebrates her actual birthday on April,21 and her official birthday on a Saturday in June. This is done with the hope for good weather for the Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour.
The Queen usually spends her actual birthday privately, but the occasion is marked publicly by gun salutes in four different locations.
Over the course of her reign there have been 12 British Prime Ministers and 12 U.S. Presidents.(maybe we should all look into this double birthday deal?) The Queen joined Facebook in 2010 with a page called British Monarchy which features royal news, photos, videos and speeches. Elizabeth was the first British monarch to celebrate her diamond wedding anniversary while reigning.
