Running is a high impact exercise that can cause joint damage,but that isn't the running hazard I'm referring to today. An invasive species of owl is attacking runners in Salem's Bush's Pasture Park. The barred owl is also the guilty party for crowding out the spotted owl,many of us remember the loggers battle over that bird. The owl has attacked four runners by dive bombing,scratching,pecking,tearing out tufts of hair and in one instance stealing a favorite running hat. Apparently they are establishing their nesting territory,I can only imagine their level of aggression once they have hatchlings!
