A Slice of the Action

A couple of months back I did a post about truckloads of cheese that had been stolen some where in the Midwest if my memory serves correctly. At the time I thought it was an odd thing to target for theft since it was perishable and where would a person off load that much cheese unless it was an illicit pizza joint or sub shop. Either I am missing something or there is a much larger market for hot (grilled?) cheese than I imagined as it is happening again on a smaller scale in Colorado. The target this time is Do Drop Inn pizza parlor who the serial cheese thief has stolen 2,000 pounds of provolone cheese over a six week period plus a couple of dollies and a ladder worth between $5,000-$7,000. The owner installed a video camera which briefly captured the thief before he used a pole to turn the camera away from the truck he was loading with more cheese. Someone has a serious cheese problem...maybe the police should set up a sting operation in the local laxative aisle?
