Bearly Harmed

It has finally happened, a normal or at least non-crazy story from Florida! Lake County Fire  Rescue Battalion were mopping up from a 250 mile wildfire when they spotted a 15-20 black bear cub. He had suffered some minor burns to his face and paws but otherwise seemed to be okay. While the crew were waiting for the Fish and Wildlife people to show up they dubbed him Smokey Junior,or S.J. for short and took turns holding him for photo ops. When Fish and Wildlife arrived they said they had located a female bear they thought might be S.J.'s mother and would try reuniting them. How about that, not only a normal Florida story, but one with a warm and fuzzy ending!
