With more winter weather ahead of us we are all armed with the old "cold as a" cliches,or at least I am. Then there are people who don't seem to mind the cold,dark weather and even seem to embrace it like the team of Antarctic explorers trying to set a record for the most people (six) to trek across the entire continent (1,100 miles) to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund. Two weeks into the 3 month journey a 26 year old explorer developed polar penis,a painful condition causing the penis to become cold and swollen,but not to worry stuffing a heavy woolen hat into his pants seemed to have remedied the problem. I am continually amazed at the extremes people will go to in the name of charity up to and including risking their lives,then again maybe I'm just getting more cynical.
