The regular readers among you know I have a bit of a fascination about the ingredients being used nowadays to brew beer and make distilled beverages. Some of these off the beaten path items make sense because their addition to the tried and true recipes can make new and unusual flavors, but other items not so much. As a case in point a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast in Germany is sharing his love by crafting gin infused with motorcycle parts. He makes three different types: Flathead,Panhead, and Knucklehead. Each bottle contains a motorcycle piece covered in a food safe seal to keep the booze and the metal intact and sell for $1,000 to $1,300. Stop me if I'm wrong but what is the point of including a piece of metal? Last I knew sealed metal didn't add much flavor to gin or anything else for that matter. Nostalgia perhaps?
