Take a Seat

Today's subject fits in with a couple of experiments I have planned for this month,so it is kind of serendipitous to have recently heard about this.
The pineal gland was described by Rene Descartes as the "Seat of the Soul". Given its name as it is shaped somewhat like a pine cone,it sits near the center of your brain. The pineal gland is also known as the Third Eye or mind's eye and is the focal point of our five senses but can also be tuned into higher levels of consciousness. This gland is referenced in several religions and in the bible it is thought to be what is referred to as the light of God shining so as you are never again in the dark. Mystical traditions have long thought this area in the middle of the brain to be a link between the physical and spiritual worlds. Development of psychic talents are also closely associated with this organ of higher vision.
