It's All In the Usage

Tobacco is mostly known for all the bad press it receives but it isn't a strictly evil device. Tobacco has long been used effectively as an organic insecticide and also has medical uses. Research suggests nicotine may help dementia and Alzheimer's patients by stimulating receptors associated with memory. Tobacco is not the only plant that contains nicotine, small amounts are found in tomatoes and peppers and eating them could help protect neurons and prevent Parkinson's disease. Work is also being done on a protein that can be extracted from tobacco leaves that takes on the texture and flavor of other foods. Further proof that most of nature's offerings can be put to good use if used in the prescribed way.
Another tobacco item I was unfamiliar with is creamy snuff,it is sold in a toothpaste tube and consists of tobacco, clove oil, glycerin, spearmint, menthol and camphor. It is mainly marketed to women in India under several brand names as a dentifrice. I doubt if there are health benefits involved with its use,but there are no health benefits from fluoride either.
