On Your Mark...

Today's post gives a new meaning to the phrase "off to the races",or what about "oh what fun it is to ride in an open office chair"?  The Isu-1 Grand Prix (isu is Japanese for chair) marked its sixth year this last March and has become so popular it is now featured in 12 other locations. The object of the race is to complete as many laps as possible in 2 hours on an office chair. Protective equipment is recommended as the chairs often break sending their riders crashing to the concrete. By this time you may be wondering what grand prize if offered for the winning team (3 riders per team),the answer is 90 kg (about 198 lbs) of rice!

Competitors race to exhaustion during the ISU-1 Grand Prix on March 26, 2016, in Kyotanabe, Japan.
