Before I get started today I need to say I am totally behind the "Me Too" thing that is going on and am happy that those women will hopefully find relief now,but has it made other people with a somewhat puritanical leaning feel free to bash anything that offends them?
A New Jersey ice cream shop named Dairy Air (derriere) has been the subject of complaints because of their choice in signage. Their logo features a cartoon cow with her heart shaped derriere,a blond wig and lipstick plus their name on display. Some folks are saying it is sexualizing women to sell their product. The problem I have with this is firstly it is a CARTOON COW and unless you think that women are mere animals the comparison should end there. Is there no way the logo can be taken for what it is,a clever play on words? I would hope these shop owners will be allowed their right to choose their logo without it turning into a sexist statement.
