Sorry about the title but it's better than "Imagine Whirled Peas" or several other takes on the same theme. Today would have been John Lennon's 81st birthday had he not been shot five times by Mark David Chapman. There are several lesser known facts about John's life,his Aunt Mimi who raised him discouraged his music and told him he could never make a living with it,but his mother taught him to play the banjo and later the guitar. Regardless of the peaceful image he had created of himself by the time of his death, he had led a violence filled life,he almost killed a DJ friend of his in a drunken rage,and would also hit women including his first wife and son Julian all which he admitted to being sorry about in a Playboy magazine interview shortly before his death. The one thing that can't be denied is he was a brilliant musician who died before his time.
