A 27 year old man was stopped in Western Australia when police noticed unrestrained children in the vehicle. The children (one less than a year old) were on laps of adults and in the foot wells instead of buckled in with seat belts. What was buckled in were several cases of beer. This apparently is not an isolated incident in the area, nor is driving without a license which the man in question was also lacking. He was cited for no authority to drive and failure to restrain a child. This leaves me with a couple of questions (other than the obvious) why didn't the other adults in the car step up and see to the children's safety and why didn't they put the beer in the trunk? I'm assuming they weren't already drunk as that wasn't mentioned nor was a ticket issued for DUI.
