The regular readers among you know I enjoy featuring posts about dumb criminals,today's offering is mostly the opposite providing there is such a thing as a clever criminal. The crime in question took place in Montreal,Canada where thieves made off with 5,000 gallons of maple syrup from a warehouse. First off the thieves had to break into the locked warehouse,it wasn't mentioned what sort of security measures were in place making it hard to judge the difficulty level,but to abscond with 20 pallets of maple syrup couldn't have been an easy task. My next thought is what exactly does a person do with that much maple syrup? The company who was storing the syrup has offered a $10,000 reward but also said the product was worth $60,000 which seems like a mistake if they were hoping to get it back. My best guess is it was an inside job since they knew it was there in the first place plus had knowledge of the equipment necessary to move the product quickly. If you receive maple syrup as a gift in a bottle like the one pictured don't worry about heating it,it is already hot!
