Arachnophobes Rejoice

Today's post is dedicated to those people who feel the need to kill spiders because of their fear of the 8 legged creatures even though they are doing more good than harm. Fall is mating season for your sworn foes but instead of killing them for invading your space here are several other options: They hate citrus smells so rub lemon peel along your windowsills, doorways or other spots the spiders may appear. If you're not fond of the citrus smell try mixing peppermint oil and water and spraying in those same spider spots. Same deal with vinegar and water and the smell of the vinegar disappears as soon as it dries. Warm water and lavender oil also can be used. Additionally some people swear that putting horse chestnuts in the corners of your home will kill spiders by releasing a chemical that is noxious to them.
