This research might seem silly at first but it's actually a huge step in curbing the ammonia caused by cow urine mixing with feces not to mention the other mixtures that result in various contaminants. It started out as a joke on a New Zealand radio station but scientists who heard it thought it was a valid idea so they set about training calves to use the toilet and it was as easy or easier than potty training toddlers. When the calves used the toilet they were rewarded with a molasses treat which cows love,when they didn't use the toilet they were sprayed with cold water. The only surprise over the experiment was that no one had thought of it before. If you're wondering about the solid waste it doesn't pose near the problem the urine does,so not to worry.
