Another strange fashion trend this time originating in China involves cosmetic surgery/injections to the ear to make elfin ears,never mind that possible side affects are infection and did I mention death? It mostly started wanting to look like Lord of the Rings characters but was also justified by Chinese thinking that protruding ears are a sign of good luck,plus some beauty experts claim it makes the face look slimmer and makes a person look more energetic. Even though the cost is relatively low ($1560), the trend will more that likely fade as most trends do and considering death is one possible outcome I wouldn't encourage anyone to get elfin ears. Be happy with what you were born with.
