Ever Wonder?

It may be a habit I developed over the years, but I tend to make up names for unknown initials. We did that a lot at work, sometimes as a memory aid,at other times just to be goofy and relieve stress. With that said, and before I digress any further, does everyone know what the J.C. in J.C. Penney stand for? It is the initials of the founder (don't say duh, until you hear his name!) James Cash Penney. Another point of interest about Penney is the original store opened in 1902 in Kemmerer,Wyoming under the name "Golden Rule Store". Mr. Penney's philosophy was to treat others the way he himself would want to be treated. As the business grew it became "A Nationwide Institution" as an early logo proclaimed. The company has remained true to its Golden Rule beginnings through more than 100 years of history. Quite an accomplishment in today's economic climate .
