Though this creature is one strange looker,it is not a phony. I have an aversion to typical moths,maybe due to the dust from their scales they leave behind. This one is so unlike the moths on this hemisphere it borders on cute. Scientists are still trying to find a place that it fits,but it may be a yet undiscovered species. They are calling it the Venezuelan Poodle moth at present,and it may be one of the thousands of new insects found in the South American rain forests every year. I don't know about everyone else but I find it exciting that there are still new things to be discovered right here on Earth.
