I'm still not sure if this is good news or not but an eco-friendly toilet is being used in South Korea to power a building, plus it pays people who use the toilet in virtual currency called Ggool which means honey in Korean. The average pay is 10 Ggool per day. The feces is sent to an underground tank where it is converted to methane gas around 50 liters per person per day. The part that confuses me is methane gas isn't exactly a good thing to be making since it is a greenhouse gas and also part of the reason they are trying to steer people away from beef and dairy products because cows make a lot of methane gas so is this really a win? or just another option of human waste disposal?
