Dog Duty

It almost seems like the stray dogs in Mexico City are receiving better treatment than the homeless people in the US. The Mexican Army has turned an abandoned kindergarten building into a shelter that can host up to 50 dogs. At The Doggies of Santa Lucia the dogs get medical attention, shelter, food and are adapted to living with humans and other dogs, but not all are destined for adoption. Specialists observe the dogs looking for ones that can be trained to detect COVID or drugs at the airport, and they also watch for medical assist dogs. They are truly taking these dogs off the streets and giving them lives. Good job Mexico!
