One of the first properties people think of pertaining to soap is its sliminess or maybe slipperiness is a more apt description? Not for the snail slime soap though, slime would be the first word most people would think of but that didn't stop a French artisan from using gastropod fluids to make soap. The good news (I guess) is it doesn't harm the snails though it takes around 40 snails to produce 80 grams which in turn makes 15 100 gram bars of soap. While snail slime is uncommon in Western cosmetics it is widely used in other markets for its anti aging properties that come from the collagen and elastin found in the slime. Hey,at least it's organic! I wonder if it is okay to use with a salt scrub?
