Panama Red

"Panama Red" was performed by New Riders of the Purple Sage who played with the Grateful Dead in the beginning of their career. It was released in 1973.
I am a tomato lover,it may be my all time favorite food,no matter if you consider it a fruit or a vegetable. That is why I have always been intrigued by La Tomatina. La Tomatina is a tomato fight purely for fun. It is held on the last Wednesday of August in Bunol,Spain. I have always thought I wouldn't be able to participate in the event as I would be eating the tomatoes instead of throwing them, but as it turns out the tomatoes are grown specifically for the holiday, being less expensive and of inferior taste (I wonder if they also supply some of the local grocery stores?) The estimated amount of tomatoes used is 40 metric tons.
The city council follows a short list of instructions for the safety of participants:
1. The tomatoes have to be squashed before throwing to avoid injuries.
2. No other projectiles except tomatoes are allowed.
3. Participants have to give way (yield) to trucks and lorries.
4. The festival doesn't allow ripping off T-shirts.
5. After the second shot signalling the end,no tomatoes should be thrown.
The city of Reno,Nevada (USA) also has an annual hour long tomato fight that started in 2009. The event takes place the last Sunday of August and is organized by the American Cancer Society.
