First of all I would like to point out that horseshit is all one word,I didn't know that until I looked up the phrase Happy Horseshit. Talk about a multiple use idiom this one qualifies in spades.
1. A quaint term used by the elder generation to denote frivolous activity.
2. A phrase used to describe news releases,speeches,and other official language used by public relations people to put the best possible,if often unrealistic spin,on a particular subject.
3. Sentimental nonsense. Official double talk.
4. Phrase used to describe fluffy Pollyanna type things that have no value other than to make people feel good.
These four cover the phrase for the most part and adding more would like be beating a dead horse!!
