What do ammunition and stamps have in common? More than you might expect and no it isn't a joke about going postal, not exactly anyway. The U.S. Postal Service is one of many federal agencies to purchase bulk small arms ammunition for their armed agents (I've heard of mail fraud but what do they need armed agents for??) Other federal departments buying bulk bullets include: Social Security Administration (174,000 hollow point bullets), the Department of Agriculture (320,000 rounds plus an order for sub machine guns and body armor),Homeland Security (450,000 million rounds for 135,000 armed agents),National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (46,000 rounds), and of course the FBI (100,000 million hollow points). I suppose you're wondering what use most of these agencies have for guns and ammo? Not a clue...but a popular theory is the government is stockpiling ammo to dry up civilian supply. When questioned what the bullets were needed for they claimed it was for target practice, but that doesn't explain why they are purchasing hollow points unless the targets are of the human variety.
