Brand Loyalty

Remember before cigarette commercials were banned? In my opinion some of the most creative advertisements of that time were for cigarettes,of course time changes things. Would a Tareyton ad be aired today with the slogan "Us Tareyton smokers would rather fight that switch"? I find it doubtful. In these days of political correctness and non violence it wouldn't be allowed...not that all that correctness seems to make this a less violent planet. Back to the brand loyalty subject...earlier this month in Florida a 20 year old woman attacked another woman with a full jar of jelly because her daughter had poured out some of her shampoo and she wanted to be paid for it. My thought is she either really loved her shampoo or it was extremely expensive and nearly irreplaceable, either way she was charged with aggravated assault. The woman she attacked was left with a lump on the side of her face which is lucky considering the damage if the jar had broken. In earlier times (1960-1970) it would have made a good brand loyalty commercial!
