Something in the Water?

I came across these two rocket scientists while looking for  something unrelated. I can't help but wonder if there is something in the water in this unnamed eastern state (West Virginia!). In all fairness I should mention the first man was in Montana when he shot himself then claimed to be the victim of a drive by shooting (those happen a lot in Montana...not.) He admitted to shooting himself after he was confronted by investigators at the hospital and explained he did it to promote a memoir called "Kindness in America".
The second man,also from the same undisclosed eastern state was cleaning his three guns on a Wednesday morning while enjoying a brewsky, he accidentally shot himself once in the right foot with each gun,but finished the task before calling an ambulance.
