This is one of those accidental posts that I found while looking for an unrelated item. The usual story in schools is the teachers watching the students for signs of alcohol or drug abuse, but the role was reversed this time. The high school students alerted security when their 57 year old teacher started yelling and cursing at them. The teacher admitted to drinking the night before as well as that morning and during class. She took a cab to school because she felt too intoxicated to drive, plus her car had been impounded the night before for driving under the influence. A security guard found a half empty (or half full?) bottle of vodka,a bottle of Sunny D and an empty single serving wine bottle in her classroom. Her blood alcohol was .205,in Arizona .08 is the legal limit for driving. She had faced a similar charge in New Mexico in 2011. My question is...are we sure we want to arm teachers? and how did she get hired to teach again?
