Clowning Around

Today's post probably seems like an odd thing to wonder about but I've been known to spend my thoughts on odd things. Professionalism aside, imagine working in a hospital or maybe as a police officer, your next patient or traffic stop is a clown in full costume and makeup. It must be terribly difficult to take the situation seriously. At the end of last month in New Jersey a woman who had just performed a clown show at an elementary school crashed into a utility pole. The witness (also a clown from the same performance) said he saw her reach for something before she veered off the road. There were 10 clowns at the scene of the accident, all in their respective cars...picture the scene if all 10 had been int the same small car! The police officer in the photo looks fairly amused, unfortunately no photos were available of the hospital staff's reaction. The woman was not seriously injured.
Westwood Police Officer Niko Pieratos talks with Jack "Poppi T Clown" Erbstein at the site of a one-car accident on Berkeley Avenue on Monday. Erbstein, of Mahwah, told police he witnessed the crash, which involved another clown.
